Cylinder Head
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.
- Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.
- The TAS color illustrations use a variety of symbols to indicate important details of the procedures. It is important to understand these symbols in order to properly used the TAS procedures.

Removal

1 Remove the special
tool.
CAUTION: Using suitable tie straps, make sure the turbocharger assembly is secure.
CAUTION: Make sure that all openings are sealed. Use new blanking caps.
CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
Carefully remove and discard the oil seal.
Remove and discard the cylinder head gasket.
Installation
Clean the components mating faces.
CAUTION: Apply sealant WSE-M4G323-A6 in a 5-7mm diameter on both cylinder head gasket notches as shown. The cylinder head and engine front cover must be installed and tightened within 30 minutes of sealant application.
Clean the component mating faces.
CAUTION: Cylinder head bolts may be reused a maximum of two times only.
NOTE:
Tighten the bolts in the indicated sequence.
Step 1: 7 Nm
Step 2: 15 Nm
Step 3: 55 Nm
Step 4: 90 degree
Step 5: 90 degree
Torque to: 17 Nm
Torque to: 60 Nm
Torque to: 10 Nm
Torque to: 3 Nm
CAUTION: A new O-ring seal is to be installed.
Torque to: 10 Nm
Torque to: 40 Nm
