Front Side Door Window Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Caution (Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Caution) .
1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement (Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement) .
3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the window inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement)
5. Remove the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement (Power Mirror Replacement) .
6. Remove the window outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement) .
7. Remove the window inner weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Inner Weatherstrip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Inner Weatherstrip Replacement) .
8. Remove the window inner sealing strip. Refer to Front Door Opening Weatherstrip Replacement (Service and Repair) .
9. Raise and support the window in the full up position.
10. Loosen the window regulator to window retaining bolts (1).
11. Lower the window regulator to separate the window from the clamps.
Important: With the aid of an assistant hold the window while the support is removed.
12. Remove the support from the window.
Important: Remove the window (1) with the aid of an assistant.
13. Remove the window (1) by tilting it forward then pulling it up and out of the door (2).
Installation Procedure
Important: Install the window (1) with the aid of an assistant.
Important: The window regulator should be approximately 1/2 way down before installing the window (1).
1. Install the window (1) down into the door (2).
2. Lower the window into the window regulator clamps (1).
3. Lower the window.
4. Install the window inner sealing strip. Refer to Front Door Opening Weatherstrip Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Start the vehicle to make sure maximum power to the window motor. This is required in order to fully seat the window for adjustment.
6. Raise the window to the fully closed position.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .
7. Raise the window to the fully closed position.
Tighten the nuts to 8 N-m (71 lb in).
8. Install the window inner weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Inner Weatherstrip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Inner Weatherstrip Replacement) .
9. Install the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement (Power Mirror Replacement) .
10. Install the window outer belt sealing strip.Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement) .
11. Install the window inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement) .
12. Inspect for correct window operation and a tight seal.
13. Shut off the vehicle.
14. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .
15. Install the speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement (Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement) .
16. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
