Technical values





Preliminary work

1. Open the sun blind fully.
2. Remove rear roof panel. -> 60401901 Removing and installing roof panels for panorama roof - section on "Removing" Service and Repair

Removing sun blind

Information

Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well. These must be carried out as a mirror image of the steps shown.

1. Detach strut from sun blind.
1.1. Press down the locking mechanism -3- on the left side -A-.

1.2. Slide the strut -4- fully to the left side -B-.
1.3. On the opposite side, slide the strut -4- towards the rear and off the sun blind slider -2- ( -C- ).

1.4. Pull the strut -4- completely off the sun blind -1- at the side.
2. Carefully lift up the locking hook on the sun blind slider -2- using a flat screwdriver -3- ( -A- ) and remove the sun blind -1- together with the driver -4- from the sun blind slider -2- by pulling it towards the rear -B-.

3. Unscrew fastening screws from the guide -3- at the top -2- and bottom -5-.

4. Pull the sun blind -1- complete with the sun blind holders -2- and drivers -4- out of the sun blind module -3- ( -arrow- ).

Installing sun blind

Information

Information

The sun blind sliders and operating cables must not be greased.

1. Slide the sun blind -1- complete with the sun blind holders -2- and drivers -4- into the sun blind module -3- and position it.

2. Screw in fastening screws used to secure the guide -3- at the top -2- and bottom -5- to the frame -4- and tighten to => Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ftlb.).

3. Guide the sun blind -1- together with the driver -4- into the rail -A- until the driver locks on the sun blind slider -2-.

Check that the fabric is fitted correctly. => Fabric position

4. Install sun blind strut.
4.1. Slide the strut onto the sun blind at the side.
4.2. Press down the locking mechanism -3- on the left side -A-.

4.3. Slide the strut -4- fully to the left side -B-.
4.4. On the opposite side, slide the strut -4- onto the sun blind slider -2- from the rear -C-.

4.5. Slide the sun blind strut to the right -D- until the locking mechanism -3- engages.

Subsequent work

Information

After installing the sun blind, check that it moves perfectly and smoothly. To do this, move the sun blind drive mechanism forwards and backwards at the motor by hand by actuating it manually using a commercially available hexagon wrench and check that the sun blind fabric folds and moves correctly.
