2. Remove headrest.

2/3-split folding rear backrest
1. Unclip the rear trim panel at the top -1- from the seat backrest -2- using a suitable tool.

2. Loosen Velcro fasteners -1, 2- at the bottom of the backrest cover.

3. Carefully lever the seat-belt guide -1- up out of the seat -2- using a suitable tool -A- and pull it forward -B-.

4. Insert a suitable tool -1- into the gap -2- at the bottom of the backrest frame and carefully lever out the backrest cover piping -3- over the entire length of the backrest.

5. Loosen the seat belt -1- at the bottom.

5.1. Unscrew fastening screw -2- on the seat belt.
5.2. Unclip the fixing clips -3- for the seat belt on the seat frame -4-.
6. Carefully slide the backrest cover -1- forward over the covers -2- on the headrest support.

7. Unscrew fastening screw -4- on the side airbag -2-.

8. Slide the side airbag holder -1- up and take it out of the guide -3-.
9. Loosen the fastenings securing the cover to the side airbag.

10. Release the existing electric plug connections -1, 2- ( -a, b- ) and pull them off -A, B-.

11. Unclip electric wire harness -1- for the seat backrest at the brackets -2-.

12. Pull out electric wire harness -1- together with the guide -2- on the inside of the seat frame and unclip it at the holder -3-.

13. Remove backrest cover.
13.1. Fold the backrest cover -4- outwards -arrows-.

13.2. Cut the cushion clips -2- in the specified sequence -1 - 3- using a suitable tool, e.g. side cutters. => Cutting cushion clips

13.3. Remove the backrest cover from the padding mount.
13.4. Remove the remaining pieces of the cushion clips.
Installing cover for 2/3-split folding rear backrest
1. Fit the cover.
Always use cushion clip pliers Nr.130 -4- and new cushion clips -2- to fasten the cover. => Fitting cushion clips

1.1. Place the seat cover -1- on the padding -A- and align it with the contour of the padding -B-.

1.2. Fasten the seat cover -4- using cushion clip pliers Nr.130 and new cushion clips in the sequence shown -1 - 3-.

1.3. Pull the outside of the seat cover to the rear -arrows-.
2. Secure the backrest cover -1- to the side airbag holder -2- at the front and rear.

3. Fit side airbag to the backrest frame.
3.1. Guide the holder -1- for the side airbag -2- into the guide -3-.

3.2. Screw in fastening screw -4- and tighten to => Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.).
4. Clip in the electric wire harness -1- at the holder -3- on the inside of the seat frame and fit the guide -2- on the seat frame.

5. Plug in existing electric plug connections -1, 2- for the 2/3-split folding seat -A, B- and lock them -a, b-.

6. Clip in the wire harness -1- at the brackets -2- on the seat frame.

7. Carefully pull the backrest cover -1- over the covers -2- on the headrest guide.

8. Carefully fold the backrest cover -1- to the rear -arrows- and insert the piping -2- over the entire length into the guide -3- on the backrest frame => Seat piping.

9. Check that the piping -2- on the backrest cover -1- engages securely in the guide -5-.

10. Secure the seat belt -1- at the bottom.

10.1. Screw in fastening screw -2- for the seat belt -1- and tighten to => Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.).
10.2. Clip in fixing clips -3- for the seat belt on the seat frame -4-.
10.3. Check that the seat belt is routed correctly.
11. Insert the seat belt guide -1- into the padding -2- ( -A- ) and clip it in in a downward direction -B-.

12. Pull the rear seat cover through in a downward direction and close the Velcro fasteners -1, 2-.

13. Clip the rear trim panel at the top -1- into the seat backrest -2-.

Subsequent work

2. Install headrest.
