Preliminary work

Preliminary work for removing and installing 1/3-split folding backrest

1. Remove 1/3-split folding rear seat. -> 724819 Removing and installing rear seat - section on "Removing" 724819 Removing and installing 1/3-split folding rear seat 724819 Removing and installing 2/3-split folding rear seat

Removing 1/3-split folding rear backrest

1. Remove seat trim on the right.
1.1. Unscrew fastening screw -1- on seat trim -2- at the right.
Press the control lever up to do this.

1.2. Carefully unclip the trim panel at the retaining lugs -3- on the seat.
1.3. Carefully pull the trim panel up and remove it.
2. Remove seat trim on the left.

2.1. Unscrew the fastening screw -1- on the seat trim -2- at the left.
2.2. Carefully unclip the trim panel at the retaining lugs -3- on the seat.
2.3. Carefully pull the trim panel up and remove it.
3. Remove the shaft for 1/3-split folding backrest adjustment.
3.1. Loosen the retaining lugs -1- on the adjustment device using a suitable tool -2- and press the shaft -3- out from the other side.

3.2. Pull the shaft -1- out of the seat frame -arrow-.

4. Remove the rear right belt lock. -> 692519 Removing and installing rear belt lock - section on "Removing" 692519 Removing and installing rear seat-belt buckle
5. Unscrew the fastening screws -1-3- on the 1/3-split folding backrest at the right.

6. Unscrew the fastening screws -1-3- on the 1/3-split folding backrest at the left.

7. Take the 1/3-split folding backrest down off the seat.

Installing 1/3-split folding rear backrest

1. The 1/3-split folding rear backrest is installed in reverse order to removal.
2. Observe the correct tightening torques.
