1. Remove 1/3-split folding rear seat. -> 724819 Removing and installing rear seat - section on "Removing" 724819 Removing and installing 1/3-split folding rear seat 724819 Removing and installing 2/3-split folding rear seat

Removing lock for 1/3-split folding rear backrest

1. Remove seat trim panel on the right.
1.1. Unscrew fastening screw -1- on seat trim panel -2- at the right.
Press the control lever up to do this.

1.2. Carefully unclip the trim panel at the retaining lugs -3- on the seat.
1.3. Carefully pull the trim panel up and remove it.
2. Remove locking mechanism for 1/3-split folding rear seat.

2.1. Unscrew fastening screw -1- from the locking mechanism -2-.
2.2. Carefully lever off the lock -2- using a suitable tool -3- and remove it from the joint -4- on the backrest frame.
3. Carefully lever off the joint -1- using a suitable tool -2- and remove it from the backrest frame -3-.

4. Carefully unclip the locking lug -1- on the handle -2- of the locking mechanism using a suitable tool -3- and remove it from the lever -4-. Then pull off the handle.

1. Fit the joint -1- of the locking mechanism onto the pin -2- and check that it engages securely.

2. Install the lever for the locking mechanism.

2.1. Carefully clip the lever -1- for the locking mechanism onto the locking lug -2- on the locking mechanism joint.
2.2. Screw in fastening screw -3- for the locking mechanism and tighten to => Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)+/-2 Nm (+/-1.5 ftlb).
3. Install right trim panel on 1/3-split folding seat.

3.1. Guide the trim panel -2- into position on the seat from above and engage it securely at the clips -3-.
3.2. Screw in fastening screw -1- and tighten to => Tightening torque: 2 Nm (1.5 ftlb.).
4. Slide the handle -1- of the locking mechanism onto the lever -2- until the locking lug engages securely -3-.
