Preliminary work

Preliminary work for removing and installing switch console

1. If a new control unit has to be installed, the values/coding must be read out using PIWIS Tester II 9818 prior to removing the "old" control unit. -> 962755 Replacing switch console - section on "Programming" 962755 Replacing switch console.

Removing switch console

1. Unscrew screws -2- for the switch console -1- from the centre console -3-.

2. Unclip fixing clips -4- at the rear from the centre console -3- and lift switch console -1- up as far as possible at the rear -arrow-.
3. Release electric plug connections -2, 3- on the switch console -a, b- and pull them off the climate control panel -1- ( -arrows- ).

4. Release electric plug connections -4, 5- on the switch console -c, d- and pull them off the climate control panel -1- ( -arrows- ).

5. Move switch console -1- to the rear and pull it up out of the centre console -2- ( -arrow- ).

Replacing/disassembling switch console

1. Unscrew fastening screws -2- on the switch console -1-.

2. Take switch console out of the securing frame.
3. Remove selector switch for the levelling system. -> 430019 Removing and installing levelling system (selector switch) - section on "Removing"

Installing switch console

1. The switch console is installed in reverse order to removal.

Subsequent work

2. If the control unit was replaced, the "new" control unit must be adapted to suit the vehicle using PIWIS Tester II 9818. -> 962755 Replacing switch console - section on "Programming" 962755 Replacing switch console.
