Technical values
Preliminary work
1. Drain the cooling system. -> 193817 Draining and filling coolant (includes bleeding) Service and Repair
2. Remove intake pipe. -> 243519 Removing and installing air box for throttle housing (intake pipes upstream of throttle valve) Service and Repair
Removing coolant pump
1. Detach drive belt from water pump. For details, see -> 137819 Removing and installing drive belt Service and Repair
2. If the pulley has to be removed in order to replace the water pump, counter the pulley using a commercially available mandrel or screwdriver and then loosen the screws on the pulley.
3. Turn the drive wheel for the coolant pump in such a way that the fastening screws can be reached through the holes in the pulley -arrows-.

4. Pull coolant pump out of the crankcase.

Installing coolant pump
1. Clean sealing faces and check the condition of the seal that is stuck to the coolant pump for signs of damage => O-ring for coolant pump. If the seal is leaking or damaged, replace the coolant pump.

2. Move coolant pump into installation position.
3. Screw in and tighten the three fastening screws.=> Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)

4. Fit the pulley if necessary. => Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)
Subsequent work
1. Fit drive belt. -> 137819 Removing and installing drive belt Service and Repair
2. Fit the intake pipe. -> 243519 Removing and installing air box for throttle housing (intake pipes upstream of throttle valve) Service and Repair
3. Fill and bleed the cooling system according to instructions. -> 193817 Draining and filling coolant (includes bleeding) Service and Repair
