Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Service and Repair

Preliminary work

1. Put on protective covers.
2. Remove fan frame. -> 192019 Removing and installing cooling fan housing (radiator frame) on DFI engines - section on "Removing" Service and Repair
3. Remove cowl for throttle body. -> 243519 Removing and installing air box for throttle housing on DFI engines (intake pipes upstream of throttle valve) - section on "Removing" Service and Repair
4. Mark rolling direction of drive belt with chalk and remove drive belt from the vibration balancer. -> 137819 Removing and installing drive belt on V6 DFI engines - section on "Removing" Service and Repair

Removing and installing vibration damper (crankshaft pulley)

Removal:
1. Lock the vibration damper using counter-hold tool T10172.
Unscrew the fastening screws and remove the vibration damper.

Installation:

2. Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:
2.1. The fastening screws on the vibration damper must be replaced.
2.2. Tighten screws in diagonally opposite sequence.

Information

This can be turned further in several steps.

2.3. Tightening torque:=> Initial tightening: 60 Nm (44 ftlb.) => Final tightening: +180°

Subsequent work

1. Fit drive belt. -> 137819 Removing and installing drive belt on V6 DFI engines Service and Repair

2. Fit cowl for throttle body. -> 243519 Removing and installing air box for throttle housing on DFI engines (intake pipes upstream of throttle valve) Service and Repair
3. Install fan frame. -> 192019 Removing and installing cooling fan housing (radiator frame) on DFI engines Service and Repair
