Technical values
Preliminary work
1. Switch off ignition.
2. Remove cover under dashboard in the footwell. -> 702219 Removing and installing cover under dashboard 702219 Removing and installing cover under dashboard
3. Remove securing bracket A for the lower dashboard cover at the accelerator pedal module. To do this, pull the securing bracket out of the guide.
Replacing accelerator pedal

1. Pull plug connection -B- off the accelerator pedal module.
2. Remove accelerator pedal module. To do this, remove the three fastening screws -C-.
3. Take the accelerator pedal module out of the footwell and remove the pedal cap -D- by pulling it downwards.
Installing accelerator pedal

1. Slide pedal cap -D- onto the new accelerator pedal module.
2. Fit new accelerator pedal module on the bracket -E- using the three fastening screws -C-. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)+/-1 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)
3. Connect plug connection -B-.
Performing Kickdown adaptation
1. Connect the Porsche System Tester and switch on the ignition.
2. Select the relevant vehicle and call up the "Diagnostics" menu.
3. Control unit overview screen.
3.1. Control unit search ends and DME control unit is displayed.
3.2. Read out the fault memory of the DME control unit and correct and erase faults if necessary.
3.3. Select the "Maintenance/repairs" menu.
4. Maintenance/repairs screen.
4.1. Select the Adaptations test.
4.2. Follow the menu prompting.
5. Adaptations/preconditions screen.
5.1. The following preconditions are displayed and must always be observed:
- No faults stored in the fault memory
- Engine off
- Ignition on
- Accelerator pedal not pressed
- Parking brake on
- Engine temperature: 60 °C.90 °C
5.2. Follow the menu prompts.
6. Adaptations/overview screen.
6.1. Select Kickdown threshold adaptation.
6.2. Follow the menu prompts.
7. V6 and Hybrid: Adaptation/Kickdown switch screen.
7.1. The message "Press accelerator pedal" is displayed.
7.2. The accelerator pedal must be pressed within 5 seconds. Otherwise, an error message will appear.
7.3. If the accelerator pedal was pressed within the specified time, the message "System OK" should appear on the Porsche System Tester.
7.4. If the Porsche System Tester displays an error message, check the preconditions again and repeat the adaptation test again from the start.
7.5. Press F8 or STOP on the touchscreen to end the test.
8. V8 naturally aspirated engine and turbo engine: Adaptation/Kickdown switch screen:
8.1. The message "Press the accelerator as far as the mechanical stop and keep it pressed for at least 30 seconds" is displayed.
8.2. After 30 seconds, the message "System OK" should appear on the Porsche System Tester.
8.3. If the Porsche System Tester displays an error message, check the preconditions again and repeat the adaptation test again from the start.
8.4. Press F8 or STOP on the touchscreen to end the test.
9. The test is now complete.
10. Disconnect the Porsche System Tester from the vehicle.
11. Error messages.
11.1. Error messages can be displayed if:
- Not all the preconditions were met.
- The prompt "Press accelerator pedal" was ignored for more than 8 seconds.
11.2. If the Porsche System Tester displays an error message, the adaptation test must be repeated from the start.
Subsequent work
1. Insert securing bracket A for the lower dashboard cover into the guide on the accelerator pedal module.
