Preliminary work

1. -> 243519 Removing and installing air box for throttle housing on DFI engines (intake ports upstream of throttle valve) - section on "Removing" Service and Repair

Removing throttle housing

1. Pull off cable plugs on the throttle housing and pull cable out of the clip -arrows-.

2. Loosen the four screws on the throttle housing -arrows-. Remove throttle housing and check the condition of the sealing ring. Replace the sealing ring if necessary.

1. Check the condition of the sealing ring for the throttle housing. Replace the sealing ring if necessary. Place throttle housing in installation position. Fit and tighten the four screws on the throttle housing -arrows-. => Tightening torque: 7 Nm (5 ftlb.)

2. Attach cable plugs and cable to throttle housing -arrows-.

Subsequent work

Information

- The new throttle valve must be taught when replacing the throttle valve.

- Conditions: The vehicle is stationary, engine is off, engine temperature is between 5 and 100°C, intake air temperature is more than 5°C, battery voltage is at least 9 volts

- After replacing the throttle valve, switch on the ignition - but do not press the accelerator pedal - and wait for one minute.
