Preliminary work

1. Remove transfer gear. -> 396519 Removing and installing transfer gear Service and Repair

Removing sealing ring for transfer gear

1. Pierce a hole in the centre of the sealing ring using a mandrel.
2. Screw in tapping screw -arrow- with a diameter of 4 mm.
3. Pull out sealing ring using puller T10055. => Sealing ring, inner drive

Installation

Installing sealing ring for transfer gear

1. Lightly oil the outer circumference of the new sealing ring.
2. Half-fill the space between the sealing and dust lips with sealing grease.
3. Tap the sealing ring in as far as it will go using thrust piece T10448. Do not bend the sealing ring.





Driving in sealing ring

Subsequent work

1. Install transfer gear. -> 396519 Removing and installing transfer gear Service and Repair
2. Check oil for the transfer gear and top up if necessary. -> 399035 Checking and topping up oil for transfer gear Testing and Inspection
