Preliminary work

Removal

Removing sealing ring for cardan flange

1. Pull off O-ring -1- and circlip -2-.

2. Remove dust boot.
2.1. Pierce two holes in the dust boot using a mandrel.
2.2. Screw in tapping screws -arrows- with a diameter of 4 mm.
2.3. Pull out dust boot using puller T10055. => Tapping screws in dust boot

3. Remove sealing ring.
3.1. Pierce two holes in the sealing ring using a mandrel.
3.2. Screw in tapping screws with a diameter of 4 mm.
3.3. Pull out sealing ring using puller T10055.

Installation

Installing sealing ring for cardan flange

1. Install sealing ring.
1.1. Half-fill the space between the sealing and dust lips -arrow- on the new sealing ring with sealing grease.





Preparing sealing ring

1.2. Mask the splines on the operator shaft with adhesive tape to prevent damage to the new sealing ring.
1.3. Slide the sealing ring as far as it will go onto the final drive.
1.4. Tap the sealing ring in as far as it will go using assembly tool T10432. Do not bend the sealing ring. => Installing sealing ring





Installing sealing ring

1.5. Remove adhesive tape.
2. Fit dust boot.
2.1. Tap in new dust boot using thrust piece T10432/1. => Fitting dust boot

3. Fit new O-ring -1- and new circlip -2-.

Subsequent work

1. Install rear cardan shaft. -> 393519 Removing and installing rear cardan shaft 393519 Removing and installing rear cardan shaft
2. Check oil for rear final drive and top up if necessary. -> 399035 Checking and topping up oil for rear final drive 399035 Checking and Topping Up Oil For Rear Final Drive
