Checking Pump Motor and Rotation Sensor [EL4]



Checking Pump Motor And Rotation Sensor

- Ignition off.





- Connect test box and check ground points as per JA. Connecting test box. Connecting Test Box [JA]





- Disconnect control module.

First connect a temporary lead between #1 and #34 on test box.

Then connect other temporary leads between #15 and #1 on test box.

Connect a voltmeter between #31 and #49 on test box.





- Push brake pedal down hard.





- Ignition on.





Pump motor should start and voltmeter should read at least 350 mV AC at a frequency not less than 130 Hz. maximum cut-in time approx. 20 seconds.

- Ignition off.
- Remove the temporary leads.

If pump motor is running and signal is OK:
- Check control module EL23. Checking Control Module [EL23]

If pump motor is running but signal is incorrect:
- Check resistance in rotation sensor circuit EL12. Checking Resistance In Rotation Sensor Circuit [EL12]

If pump motor does not start:
- Check supply EL5. Checking Supply [EL5]
