If the Car Is To Be Scrapped

If the car is to be scrapped

General
For intentional detonation of the SIPS bag Volvo recommends the following:
- If the car is to be scrapped, the SIPS bag must be detonated in position in the car, see item If the car is to be scrapped.
- If the removed SIPS bag is to be scrapped, the SIPS bag cushion module is secured in a vice before detonation, see item If the removed SIPS bag is to be scrapped.

Warning! Make sure no one is in the vehicle, and that no one is in front of the SIPS bag, when the SIPS bag is detonated. Detonation of a loose or dismantled SIPS bag can cause personal injuries.

Note! Protective glasses and ear-muffs must be worn when performing these steps.
