C18 Checking Operating Switches

C18 Checking switches, driver's and passenger doors




Switch ignition off.
Remove door panels from driver's and passenger doors.
Loosen central locking module 6-pin connector.




Lock driver's door using key.
Keep door key turned as far as it will go, at least 45°.




Connect an ohmmeter between positions 1 and 2 of central locking module 6-pin connector male section.
Ohmmeter should read infinite resistance.




Connect an ohmmeter between positions 1 and 3 of central locking module 6-pin connector male section.
Ohmmeter should read approx 0 Ohms.




Unlock driver's door with door key.
Keep door key turned as far as it will go, at least 45°.




Connect an ohmmeter between positions 1 and 2 of 6-pin connector pin section.
Ohmmeter should read approx 0 Ohms.




Connect an ohmmeter between positions 1 and 3 of 6-pin connector pin section. Ohmmeter should read infinite resistance.

Repeat readings on passenger door.

If all readings are correct: Go to step C19. C19 Checking Ground Lead Switch

If any reading is incorrect:
Fault in central locking module switch or lead harness.

Correct fault or install new central locking unit complete.
Replace central locking relay D/G and driver's door relay N.
