DESCRIPTION
When the glass hatch is open, the rear wiper system cuts off the power supply to prevent the rear wiper and rear washer from operating.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (GLASS HATCH COURTESY SWITCH)
(a) Use the Data List to check if the glass hatch opener is functioning properly Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
Main Body
OK:
On tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.
NG -- GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM Back Door Courtesy Switch Circuit
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (REAR WIPER MOTOR)
(a) Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
Main Body
OK:
Rear wiper motor operates.
NG -- INSPECT WASHER RR RELAY
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal
3. INSPECT WASHER RR RELAY
(a) Remove the WASHER RR relay from the engine room relay block, junction block.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPLACE WASHER RR RELAY
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WASHER RR RELAY - BATTERY)
(a) Remove the WASHER RR relay from the engine room relay block, junction block.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - WASHER RR RELAY AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Remove the WASHER RR relay from the engine room relay block, junction block.
(b) Remove the main body ECU Removal.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WASHER RR RELAY - REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY)
(a) Disconnect the Y1 rear wiper motor connector.
(b) Remove the WASHER RR relay from the engine room relay block, junction block.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. INSPECT REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the rear wiper motor Removal.
(b) Check that the rear wiper motor assembly operates when the battery voltage is applied between the terminals.
OK:
NG -- REPLACE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the Y1 rear wiper motor connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

OK -- Continue to next step.
9. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the windshield wiper switch connector Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY - REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the Y1 rear wiper motor connector.
(b) Disconnect the G50 windshield wiper switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal
