DESCRIPTION
Refer to the circuit description for DTC P0A84-123 P0A84.
WIRING DIAGRAM
Refer to the wiring diagram for DTC P0A84-123 P0A84, DTC P0A9D-123 P0A9D and DTC P0AAC-123 P0AAC.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
CAUTION:
- Before inspecting the high-voltage system, take safety precautions such as wearing insulated gloves and removing the service plug grip to prevent electrical shocks. After removing the service plug grip, put it in your pocket to prevent other technicians from accidentally reconnecting it while you are working on the high-voltage system.
- After disconnecting the service plug grip, wait for at least 10 minutes before touching any of the high-voltage connectors or terminals.
HINT: Waiting for at least 10 minutes is required to discharge the high-voltage capacitor inside the inverter with converter assembly.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (DTC 0A1F-123 IS OUTPUT)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(d) Check if DTCs are output.
Result:
DTC P0A1F-123 is output.
YES -- GO TO INSPECTION PROCEDURE RELEVANT TO OUTPUT DTC
NO -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VOLTAGE)
(a) Remove the luggage compartment trim cover front. Removal
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(d) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Active Test / Driving the Battery Cooling Fan.
(e) Select each air volume mode (1 to 6) in the Battery Cooling Fan active test to operate the battery cooling blower assembly.
(f) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below while the cooling fan is operating.
Standard voltage:
OK -- CHECK HV BATTERY (BATTERY TEMPERATURE SENSOR AND INLET AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
NG -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VOLTAGE)
(a) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(b) Disconnect connector N5 from the battery cooling blower assembly.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
HINT: Turning the power switch on (IG) with the battery cooling blower assembly connector disconnected may cause DTC P0A84-123 (Hybrid Battery Pack Cooling Fan 1) to be set. Make sure to clear this code using the Techstream.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY COOLING BLOWER - BATTERY SMART UNIT)
OK -- REPLACE BATTERY COOLING BLOWER ASSEMBLY
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY COOLING BLOWER - BATTERY SMART UNIT)
CAUTION: Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
(a) Remove the service plug grip. Removal
(b) Remove the luggage compartment trim cover front. Removal
(c) Disconnect the frame wire. Removal
(d) Remove the battery bracket sub-assembly. Removal
(e) Disconnect connector N2 from the battery smart unit.
(f) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance (Check for short):
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE BATTERY SMART UNIT
5. CHECK HV BATTERY (BATTERY TEMPERATURE SENSOR AND INLET AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
CAUTION: Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
(a) Remove the service plug grip. Removal
(b) Disconnect the frame wire. Removal
(c) Remove the battery bracket sub-assembly. Removal
(d) Disconnect connector z13 from the battery smart unit.
(e) Disconnect connector N2 from the battery smart unit.
(f) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance (Check for short):
NG -- REPLACE HV BATTERY
OK -- REPLACE BATTERY SMART UNIT
