Liftgate Window Glass: Service and Repair

Liftgate Window Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Caution (Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Caution).




1. Open the liftgate window (3).
2. Support the liftgate window (3).
3. Remove the high mount stoplamp cover. Refer to High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove rear wiper arm. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement (Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement).
5. Remove wiper motor assembly. Refer to Liftgate Wiper Motor Replacement (Liftgate Wiper Motor Replacement).
6. Remove the 4 bolts (2) from the rear window (3).
7. Remove the 4 nuts (1) from the rear window hinge (5).
8. Disconnect the rear washer hose. Refer to Rear Window Washer Hose Replacement - Pump to Endgate (Rear Window Washer Hose Replacement - Pump to Endgate).
9. Remove the rear window upper outer panel (4).
10. Remove the liftgate window struts. Refer to Liftgate Window Strut Replacement (Service and Repair).




11. Remove the rear window strut bolt (1) and packing (6) from the rear window retainer (5).
12. Remove the rear window retainer (5) and the packing (4) from the rear window (2).
13. Remove the 4 nuts (3) and spacers (1) from the rear window (2).
14. With an assistant, remove the liftgate window (2) from the liftgate window hinges (8).



Installation Procedure





1. With an assistant, install the liftgate window (2) to the liftgate hinges (8).
2. Install the spacers (1) and the 4 nuts (3) to the rear window (2).
3. Install the rear window packings (4) and the retainers (5) to the rear window (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

4. Install the rear window packings (6) and the rear window strut bolts (1) to the rear window retainers (5).

Tighten the rear window strut bolts to 6.0 N.m (53 lb in).

5. Install the rear liftgate window struts. Refer to Liftgate Window Strut Replacement (Service and Repair).




6. Install the rear window upper outer panel (4) to the rear window (3).
7. Connect the rear washer hose. Refer to Rear Window Washer Hose Replacement - Pump to Endgate (Rear Window Washer Hose Replacement - Pump to Endgate).
8. Install the 4 nuts (1) to the rear window hinges (5).
9. Install the 4 bolts (2) to the rear window (3).
10. Install the rear wiper motor assembly. Refer to Liftgate Wiper Motor Replacement (Liftgate Wiper Motor Replacement).
11. Install the rear wiper arm. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement (Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement).
12. Install the high mount stoplamp cover. Refer to High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement (Service and Repair).
13. Close the liftgate window (3).
