2. Lower the engine and push it 30-40 mm to the rear.

Removing coolant regulator housing
Information
Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:
- Torx screws: (E.) for external Torx, (T.) for internal Torx.
- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)
Information
- Always replace O-rings.
- Moulded seals can be reused and are only replaced if damaged.

1. Remove coolant regulator cover.

2. Disconnect coolant pipe -1- on the coolant regulator housing.

2.1. Unscrew external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 12) -2-.
2.2. Unscrew two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 25) -2- on the coolant distributor (cylinder bank 1-3) -1-.

2.3. Pull coolant distributor -1- off the coolant pipes -2-.

2.4. Pull coolant pipe -1- off the coolant regulator housing -2-.

2.5. Unscrew external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 50) -3-.
3. Unscrew three external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 25) -1- on the connecting tube for the coolant pump.

4. Pull coolant regulator housing down out of the coolant distributor housing.
4.1. Replace the moulded seal -3- between the coolant regulator housing -1- and connecting tube -2-.

4.2. Replace O-rings.
5. Carefully clean connections and sealing faces.
Installing housing for coolant regulator
Information
- Grease O-rings, hoses and lines in the cooling system with Kluberplus Gel (Part No. 000.043.205.93).
1. Grease all moulded seals with a light coating of Kluber Plus Gel (Part No.: 000.043.205.93).
2. Push the coolant regulator housing onto the coolant distributor housing connection from below.
2.1. Be careful with the moulded seal -3- between the coolant regulator housing -1- and connecting tube -2- for the coolant pump (risk of severing!).

2.2. Fit three external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 25) -1- on the connecting tube for the coolant pump.

2.3. Fit an external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 50) -3-.

2.4. Tighten fastening screws.
=> Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)
3. Fit coolant pipe.
3.1. Fit coolant pipe on coolant regulator housing.
3.2. Fit coolant distributor -1- into the coolant pipes -2- from above.

3.3. Secure the coolant distributor -1- with two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 25) -2-.

4. Install coolant regulator cover with coolant regulator.

Subsequent work
1. Raise the engine to installation position and secure it.

2. Bleed and fill the cooling circuit.
