Preliminary work
DANGER
Vehicle can fall down
- Risk of squashing or crushing
- Risk of damage to the vehicle
-> Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.
-> Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.
-> Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.
-> Raise the vehicle only at the take-up points provided.
-> The outer take-up points should be used primarily.
1. Raise the vehicle.

2. Place protective covers on the vehicle to avoid damaging the vehicle.
3. Remove right front wheel.
When removing the front wheel, use special tool socket-wrench insert P300 to avoid damaging the rim.

Wheel with central bolt. Use special tools socket-wrench insert 9796 and assembly aid 9794.

4. Remove rear part of front right wheel housing liner.

Removing filler neck
WARNING
Highly inflammable or explosive materials
- Danger of fire or explosion
-> Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
-> Use suction to remove ignitable vapours.
-> Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.
1. Place a warning sign in a clearly visible position in the work area or on the vehicle.

2. Remove the tank tray.

2.1. Open the tank cap.
2.2. Pull off the ground strap -1-.
2.3. Unclip overflow hose on tank tray -3- and set it aside.
2.4. Unclip the locking lugs on the tank tray and pull out the tank tray.
3. Remove the holder.
Screws on holder and screw for body
3.1. Loosen internal Torx screw (T30) M6 x 20 -4- for the body (in the wheel arch).
3.2. Unscrew two hexagon-head bolts (M6 x 20) -5- on the filler neck holder.
4. Remove filler neck.

4.1. Loosen and remove the cap.
4.2. Mask the assembly opening around the tank cap with adhesive tape -1- to prevent damage to the paintwork and body.
4.3. Turn the filler neck -2- at the top and bottom alternately and carefully pull it out underneath the edge of the wing.
4.4. Replace seal on the filler neck.
Installing filler neck
Information
Replace seal at filler neck.
1. Coat filler neck lightly with new engine oil in the assembly area in front of the seal.
2. Install filler neck.

2.1. Guide filler neck -2- with a new seal into the opening of the tank.
2.2. Then turn the filler neck at the top and bottom alternately and place it in installation position.
3. Install the tank tray.

3.1. Fit and clip in the tank tray.
3.2. Connect the overflow hose -3- at the tank tray.
3.3. Connect the ground strap -1-.
4. Install the holder.
Screws on holder and screw for body
4.1. Fit and tighten internal Torx screw (T30, M6 x 20) -4- for the body (in the wheel arch).
=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
4.2. Fit and tighten two M6 x 20 hexagon-head bolts -5- on the filler neck holder.
=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
5. Close the fuel tank cap securely. (Turn to click!)
Subsequent work
1. Remove adhesive tape.
2. Install wheel housing liner.

3. Install front wheel.
Use special tool socket-wrench insert P300 to install the front wheel.

4. Remove protective covers from the vehicle.
