NOTICE

Voltage drop

- Risk of irreparable damage to control unit
- Risk of damage to control unit
- Fault entries in the control unit
- Coding in the control unit is aborted
- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming

-> Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.
-> Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.
-> Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least => Nominal value: 40 A to the vehicle battery.

Information

The PIWIS Tester II 9818 instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear in PIWIS Tester II 9818.

1. Connect the Porsche System Tester to the vehicle and start the System Tester. Switch on ignition. F12 to continue.
2. Select vehicle type.
3. Select the required control unit, e.g. Rear lid in the overview and press F12 to continue.
4. Select Maintenance/repairs.
5. Select Control unit replacement and press F12.
6. Select Read data and press F12.
7. Press F8 to start reading out data.
8. Check the chassis number and press F12.

10. The rear lid remains open.
11. Switch on ignition. Select the Write data menu (procedure described above), press F12 and then press F8 to start installing the data that was read out.
12. The System Tester displays the message Data has been written. Press F12 to continue.

CAUTION

When you start the calibration/teaching process, the tailgate moves to its limit stops. Mechanical force limitation is not guaranteed during this process.

- Danger of pinching and squashing body parts.
- Incorrect values for the control unit, resulting in malfunctions.

-> Take precautions to ensure that no body parts and objects can get caught in the tailgate.

13. Select Calibration in the Maintenance/repairs menu and press F12.
14. Read the warnings, press F12 and then press F8 to start the calibration process.
15. Actuate the "Close rear lid" switch. The rear lid closes.
16. Actuate the "Open rear lid" switch. The rear lid opens.
17. You may have to open and close the tailgate again. Once the teaching process has been completed successfully, an acoustic signal will be issued.
18. Fault memory must be selected and erased if necessary.
