Wiper Motor Linkage: Service and Repair

Technical values
Preliminary work
1. Remove cowl panel cover. -> 508719 Removing and installing cowl panel cover - section on "Removing" Service and Repair

WARNING
Electrically moved components
- Danger of limbs being trapped or severed
-> Switch off electric power to drive motor.
-> Make sure it does not switch on again.
-> Check that there is no electric charge.
1. Turn the wiper linkage and move it into position -A- so that the fastening screw -1- can be reached.

2. Unscrew fastening screws -1-.

3. Screw on fastening nut -2-.
4. Push wiper linkage to the left -A-.
5. Release and pull off electric plug connection -1- ( -a- ).

6. Lift up wiper linkage and wiper motor and remove it -A-.

1. Screw on wiper motor. -> 921519 Removing and installing wiper motor - section on "Installing" 921519 Removing and Installing Wiper Motor=> Tightening torque: 12.5 Nm (9 ftlb.)
2. Insert wiper linkage with wiper motor installed -B-.

3. Move the wiper linkage so that the fastening clip on the body side is aligned with the fastening bushing -C-.
4. Push on electric plug connection -1-. Check that it is seated securely.

5. Tighten the fastening nut -2-.=> Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)
6. Tighten fastening screws -1-. => Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)
6.1. Tighten the fastening screws from the outside in.
7. Actuate the wiper motor before installing the wiper arms in order to set the wiper linkage to the correct position.
Subsequent work
1. Install cowl panel cover. -> 508719 Removing and installing cowl panel cover - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
