Central Locking Inoperable on Trunk/Tailgate
NOTE: Control switch on trunk (4-door models) will only activate and deactivate basic alarm.E1 Verify mechanical functions of central locking module on trunk/tailgate.
Switch ignition off.
Check that the trunk/tailgate can be locked/unlocked manually using the master key or wallet key.
NOTE: When the trunk/tailgate is locked the key should be withdrawn in the vertical position. Otherwise the lock will be in the service security position with the result that the trunk/tailgate central locking module cannot be operated by the central locking system.
If central locking module can be manually operated:
Go to step E2.
If central locking module cannot be operated mechanically:
Mechanical fault in central locking module.
Correct fault or install new central locking module.
E2 Checking central locking system is working electrically
Switch ignition off.
Lock driver's door with door key.
Unlock driver's door using key.
Repeat operation on passenger side.
If central locking system can be operated electrically:
- Go to step C15. C15 Checking Central Locking Windings at Door Posts
If central locking system cannot be operated electrically:
Go to step C1. C1 Checking Fuses
