Seat belt retractor, rear

Preparatory work

Disconnecting the battery lead




Ignition off.
Disconnect the battery negative cable. See: Battery Disconnecting

Warning! Never measure with an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument on a disconnected, non-deployed pyrotechnical SRS unit. There is a risk of the seatbelt tensioner deploying.

Warning! A pyrotechnical SRS unit must never be dismantled, repaired, or moved to another vehicle.

Removal

Removing rear outer seatbelt
Fold down the backrest cushion.





Remove:
- screw, 1 pc.,and remove the panel




- the bolt, x1.
Loosen the panel at the C-pillar. It is fastened with clips, 1 pc.





Remove:
- the nut, 1 pc., for the seatbelt roller (retractor)
- connector for seatbelt roller (retractor)
- the screw, 1 pc., for the end fitting.
Replace seatbelt roller (retractor) with pre-tensioner.

Removing rear middle seatbelt





Remove:
- upholstery acc. to: Seat Cushion, Rear Seat
- plastic casing. It is fastened with 4 hooks




- nut, 1 pc., at the top
- screw, 1 pc., at the bottom.
Extract the seatbelt and remove it.

Installation

Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications. [1][2]Body and Frame

Installing rear middle seatbelt
Insert the seatbelt.

Install:
- the nut, 1 x M10. Tighten, see: Tightening torque [1][2]Body and Frame
- the M10 screw. Tighten. See: Tightening torque [1][2]Body and Frame.
Tighten the nut and screw.
Hook on the plastic casing.
Install the upholstery acc. to: Seat Cushion, Rear Seat

Installing rear outer seatbelt





Install:
- connector for seatbelt roller (retractor)
- seatbelt roller (retractor) with the nut, 1 pc. M10. Tighten acc. to: Tightening torque [1][2]Body and Frame
- end fitting with the screw, 1 pc. M10. Tighten acc. to: Tightening torque [1][2]Body and Frame
Press the panel into place by the C-pillar with the clips, 1 pc.

Install:
- the screw, 1 pc. M5. Tighten





Install:
- the screw, 1 pc. M5. Tighten.

Finishing

Checking the function
Check the function of the belt as described in Seat belt function, check Testing and Inspection.
Carry out an inspection as described in Supplementary restraint system (SRS), inspection Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
