Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair






Engine speed (RPM) sensor, replacing

Removal

Removing the upper cross stay





Remove:
- the 4 screws at the suspension turrets
- the screws of the upper engine mount on the engine
- the upper cross stay.

Removing the upper rear engine cover
Remove the upper rear engine cover by pulling it straight up.

Disconnecting the engine speed sensor





Remove:

- the 1 M6 screw of the engine speed sensor; pull out the sensor
- the connector from the engine speed sensor.

Installation

Note! For tightening torques, see: Service and Repair

Installing the engine speed sensor

Install:
- the engine speed sensor; tighten the screw
- the connector to the engine speed sensor.

Installing the upper rear engine cover and upper cross stay





Install:
- the upper engine cover; press it into the mountings
- the upper cross stay between the suspension turrets.
- the 4 screws at the suspension turrets; tighten
- the screw of the cross stay mount on the upper engine mount; tighten.

Check
Start the engine and check the function.
