Supporting the engine on the body
WARNING
Objects or loads falling down
- Risk of squashing or crushing
-> Secure components to prevent them from falling down.
Information
- Never use defective lifting equipment (bent or damaged tools must not be used or repaired. Always replace these tools). Check tools for signs of damage before use.
Information
- The engine must be supported on the body for some repair work on the front axle and engine bearings.
Information
- When assembling the suspending device, make sure that adjacent components are not scratched or damaged.
Engine support assembly
1. Assemble the support support T40091/50-51 with the support support T40091/52-53.
2. Fit support T40091/50-51 with support T40091/52-53, -1- on the top fastening points of the spring struts.
Ensure that the supports are seated correctly on the spring-strut threaded joints.
The mountings -2- must be seated exactly on the fastening nuts -3-.
Fitting engine support
3. Join the base T40093/50 to the support T40093/3P.
4. Fit the assembly on the longitudinal member seam in the engine compartment. => Front support
Front support
5. Support the engine.
5.1. Slide the joiner T40091/3, -5- onto the support bracket 10-222 A, -1-.
5.2. Connect the front support -4- to the support bracket 10-222 A and support on the left spring strut mount -3-.
5.3. Fit the pipe T40091/1 , -4- into the joiner T40091/3 and the support on the right spring strut mount -3-.
6. Secure the lifting tackle 3033 ( -6- ) to the support bracket 10-222 A.
7. Engage the two fastening eyelets -2- on the lifting tackle 3033 at the fastening eyelets -1- on the engine.
Suspending engine
Adjust the suspension at the spindles and set it as horizontal as possible.
Tension the engine slightly and make sure that the force is distributed uniformly over both spindles.
Do not load the spindles at the side, and position them until they are as vertical as possible. Assemble as shown in the illustrations.
Make sure that the suspension is not pressing back against the plenum panel.
Subsequent work
Subsequent work for supporting the engine on the body
1. Fit right air-cleaner box.
2. Fit torque support. -> 103719 Removing and installing torque support - section on "Installing"
