Preliminary work

1. Disconnect the battery. -> 2X00IN General information on disconnecting the battery Procedures

NOTICE

Voltage peaks

- Risk of damage to load or to the control unit

-> Switch off ignition and remove remote control before disconnecting or removing load.

Information

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!

- Assembly work must only be carried out if the mechanic is wearing the working clothes and shoes approved by Porsche.

- The new part must only be removed from the ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging just before installation and at the position at which the part is to be installed.

- Never touch the electric pins and plug contacts.

9. Loosen fastening points -1- on the rear underbody.

Wire harness at the right in passenger compartment:
10. Detach the rear carpet and fold it aside.
11. Release and unplug electric plug connection -10- for the PASM control unit.
12. Release and unplug electric plug connection -11- for lateral-acceleration sensor at the C-pillar.

14. Screw off fastening nut on ground point -13- under the front seat.
15. Release and unplug electric plug connection -14- for control unit for memory seat adjustment. -> 729319 Removing and installing control unit for memory seat adjustment - section on "Removing" 729319 Removing and installing control unit for memory seat adjustment
16. Release and unplug electric plug connection -15- for the Tiptronic control unit. -> 373019 Removing and installing Tiptronic control unit - section on "Removing"
17. Release and unplug electric plug connection -16- for control unit for transmission-oil pump.
18. Release and unplug electric plug connection -17- for rear door connection point. -> 585119 Removing and installing rear door - section on "Removing" 585119 Removing and Installing Rear Door
19. Unclip bracket for plug socket for rear door connection point -17- and pull wiring inwards.
20. Release and unplug electric plug connection -18- for front right seat-belt pretensioner. -> 691119 Removing and installing front three-point belt - section on "Removing" 691119 Removing and installing front three-point belt
21. Screw off fastening nut on ground point -19- under the front seat.
22. Screw off fastening nut on ground point -20- under the front seat.
23. Loosen fastening points -2- in the passenger compartment.

23.1. Pull four rubber sleeves -3- and lines inwards.
23.2. Unclip cable ducts -4- from the brackets.

24. Release and unplug electric plug connection -21- for connection point for transmission wire harness. -> 373519 Removing and installing transmission - section on "Removing"

26. Release and unplug two electric plug connections -23- at the transmission. -> 373519 Removing and installing transmission - section on "Removing"
27. Loosen fastening points -7- on the underbody in the transmission area.

Wire harness on front door sill:
28. Release and unplug three electric plug connections -24- for the levelling system compressor. -> 431519 Removing and installing compressor for the levelling system - section on "Removing" Service and Repair
29. Release and unplug electric plug connection -25- for the PDCC valve block. -> 430419 Removing and installing valve block - section on "Removing" Service and Repair
30. Loosen fastening points -8- at the door sill.

Wire harness in dashboard area:
31. Screw off fastening nuts on the ground points -26 +27- at the A-pillar and in the footwell.
32. Release and unplug electric plug connection -29- at the front door connection point.
33. Unclip bracket for plug socket for front door connection point -29- and pull wiring inwards.
34. Loosen fastening points -9- in the dashboard area.

1. First lay the main wire harness loosely, ensuring that it is positioned correctly.

2. Fit fastenings -1- on the rear underbody.
3. Fit cable ducts -4- , fastenings -2- and rubber sleeves -3- in the passenger compartment.
4. Fit fastening points -7- on the front underbody.
5. Fit fastenings -8- at the door sill.
6. Fit fastenings -9- in the dashboard area.
7. Tighten fastening nuts on ground points in the interior -13, 19, 20- to => Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.).
8. Tighten fastening nuts on ground points in the dashboard area -26 + 27- to => Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.).
9. Plug in electric plug connections -1 - 8- on the rear underbody until they engage securely.
10. Plug in electric plug connections -9 -18- in the interior until they engage securely.
11. Plug in electric plug connections -21 - 23- on the front underbody until they engage securely.
12. Plug in electric plug connections -24 + 25- at the door sill until they engage securely.
13. Plug in electric plug connection -29- in the dashboard area until it engages securely.
14. Fit and secure the rear carpet.

Subsequent work

1. Install the fuel tank. -> 201019 Removing and installing fuel tank - section on "Installing" Removal and Replacement
2. Install rear wheel housing liner at the right. -> 536919 Removing and installing rear wheel housing liner - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
3. Install front cardan shaft. -> 390219 Removing and installing front cardan shaft - section on "Installing" 390219 Removing and installing front cardan shaft
4. Fit compressor for the levelling system. -> 431519 Removing and installing compressor for the levelling system - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
5. Fit carpet at the right. -> 704119 Removing and installing carpet - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
6. Install rear seat at the rear right. -> 724819 Removing and installing rear seat - section on "Installing" 724819 Removing and installing 1/3-split folding rear seat 724819 Removing and installing 2/3-split folding rear seat
7. Install heater/air-conditioning unit. -> 851519 Removing and installing heater/air-conditioning unit - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
